Salado Pioneer Classic
Mill Creek Golf Course
Salado, Texas
The inaugural Salado Pioneer Classic at Mill Creek CC is a benefit for the Salado Museum and College Park, which preserves the pioneer history of the Salado area. Chief among the early settlers were the 600 Scottish families of the Robertson Colony, established in 1825. Golf, of course, was a near certainty.
The hickory golf event is a two-person team event with a noon tee time on Saturday, and 9 a.m on Sunday. The $150 fee includes dinner on Saturday and lunch after golf on Sunday.
Hickory clubs can be rented for $35 per player or shared with one other player. All proceeds benefit Salado Museum.
You know this is going to be a good one because the advance flyer for the event says the weekend is “Featuring William W. Reed, Past President – The Golf Heritage Society.” Can’t go wrong there. So, if you are in the area, saddle up your hickories and head over the Mill Creek and join the Hickory Golf Association of Texas, Mr. Reed, and others for a pretty good couple days of golf, friends and good Texas hospitality and fun.
Salado is about 180 miles from Houston,150 from Dallas/Fort Worth, and about 50 miles north of Austin.
