On May 19 the Nebraska Hickory Golfers were looking forward to their Opening Day event at the Elmwood Park Golf Course, but the skies were looking iffy. Black clouds and heavy rains came early and later in the day, but in between the players – a record field of 36 – got in a great round to start the season. Dale Hallock, the 2024 president of the Nebraska Hickory Golf Association, offers a big thank you to all the players, gratitude to the gods of golf weather and congratulations to the winners.
