The 2019 Wisconsin Gutty Challenge was held July 18-21 at the Eagle Springs Golf Resort in Eagle, Wisc. The course was in great shape and the staff treated us very well. I am very proud to announce the following list of champions.
Open Division Champion – Tom Johnson.
Senior Park Division Champion – Steve Simer
Senior Braid Division Champion – James Kaiser
Super Senior Park Division Champion – Dan Norstadt
Super Senior Braid Division Champion – James Clawson

Mike Just, former owner of Louisville Golf, was a great friend of hickory golf and visited our tournament in 2015, a year before he passed away (October 2016). We have created a trophy in his honor, the Keeper of the Spirit of Golf, that is presented to the winners of the Wisconsin Gutty Challenge. We also display a tribute to Mike on the course.
In addition, we are so very pleased to announce that the first annual Mike Just “Keeper of the Spirit” award was presented to Tom Johnson. The award is to an individual who carries on the spirit of golf in the way Mike did. The trophy is actually a large staff, almost like a shepherd’s crook, that Mike carved.
