Peter Knowlan reports:
The 2020 Vermont Hickory Open was contested Aug. 15-16 at the picturesque Golf Club at Equinox, a historic Walter Travis designed course nestled between the western slope of the Green Mountains and the eastern slope of Mt Equinox, the highest peak in the Taconic range.
Rick Woeckener, of Garrettsville, Ohio, the reigning U.S. Hickory Open champion, is now also the Vermont Open champion. Jack Crosby of Concord, Mass. is the reserve champion. Jeff Blomstedt, of Gill, Mass., is the champion of the Statesman division; and Allen Johnson of Randolph, Vt., is its reserve champion.
The Vermont Hickory Golf Association expresses it sincere thanks to the pro and staff at the Golf Club at Equinox for its diligence and patience for working with us to present this event in the age of coronavirus and to each of the contestants for playing a fun and competitive championship while respecting the necessary protocols. Thanks to the flexibility of the Golf Club at Equinox and the cooperation of all the players, we had a great event and a great time!
