2025 Spring Matches of the Bon Air Golfers
April 6
The Bon-Air Golfers, established 1896, and reconstituted 1996, as Augusta’s hickory golfing society, will contest their 2025 Spring Matches in three divisions on the links of the Washington-Wilkes C.C. (Donald Ross, 1928).
Greens Fee: $30
Lunch: $20 (Again this year, a southern cooking buffet feast from the clubhouse’s kitchen)
We will go off about 9 a.m.
The Playing Divisions
Fitz-john Division (gutta-percha era) 18 holes:
Clubs: Original 19th century (no later than 1905) smooth-faced irons and spliced-neck woods.
Balls: 19th century gutta-percha or the McIntyre Park ball.
This gutta ball portion of the event has an additional bonus for the winner as his, or her, entrance fee to the National Hickory Championship will be waived.
Ogilvie Division (Bobby Jones era) 18 holes:
Clubs: Pre-World War II hickory-shafted irons and woods.
Balls: Any soft-cover USGA or R&A approved ball you like, 20th century wound balata balls are encouraged.
Sporting Division (all other hickory):
Clubs: Reproduction hickory clubs, 9 and/or 18 holes depending on interest.
