The 10th annual Danish Open Hickory Championship was played on 27 May at the Royal Copenhagen Golf Club. It was cancelled in 2020-21 for covid.
Christian Joel, president of the Danish Golf Historical Society, reports that that 39 players were entered, including players from Sweden, Switzerland, Germany and Norway.
“All in all a wonderful day in the most fantastic summer weather,” he writes. “The Royal Copenhagen Golf club was really at its best, fast greens, ok fairways and not too much rough. As the course is inside the Queen’s hunting grounds there are many regulations regarding what is possible in respect of maintenance etc. – mostly one can say the deer rule – which I believe the photos also show.”
Congratulations to Andreas Olsen, the overall winner and to the others who played around the deer and turned in such good scores.
