2022 Canadian Open Hickory Championship
August 8, 2022 - August 12, 2022
An invite from Canada:
Please joins us for the 2022 Canadian Open Hickory Championship at the Legends Golf and Country Club in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
With the news of the heat wave in the U.S., if you are looking to escape to a cooler climate you should note that in all of recorded weather history, Edmonton has never hit 100 degrees…. and of course the exchange rate helps a bit too. (As of this writing about 77 cents U.S. to the Canadian dollar.)
If you are interested, just reply to Ron or Chris (email addresses below) and we will respond in July with a request for you to indicate the specific days you wish to be included. Or, don’t wait, the sooner we know your details, the better.
For those coming from afar, the closest airport is Edmonton International Airport about 30 minutes from the golf course. We are hoping that with border restrictions easing, we will have more of our U.S. friends join us. If numbers warrant, we will again do the popular U.S./Canada Ryder cup competition on the Thursday. If numbers are not there, we will go with plan B!
More info about the 27-hole Legends golf course, including a drone flyover and a hickory menu choice, can be found at www.legendsgolf.ca

Here’s an outline of Canadian Open events:
Aug. 8/9 – There are some preliminary discussions of the “road trip” components this year – likely local courses – stay tuned!
Aug. 10 – The popular Wednesday scramble will continue.
As in the past, entry fee will be $25 per person with the top teams paid with the pot split on a percentage basis.
BBQ at Chris’s house after the round.
Aug. 11 – Ryder Cup-style competition for the Casey Cup continues, if we have enough U.S. friends in the field.
Aug. 12 – The 18-hole Canadian Open Championship.
Groups will be pre-set and tee times to be determined.
The meal and presentations outdoors at the Golf Car Museum after the round have been well received so that likely will continue.
