2025 Wisconsin Hickory Open
September 18, 2025 - September 20, 2025
This is the 15th year for the Wisconsin Hickory Open. It’s a popular hickory event held at the iconic Lawsonia Links golf course in beautiful Green Lake, Wisc. Come enjoy the wonderful beginning of fall and the trees changing. Fall weather in Wisconsin is the best weather for golf at one of the most challenging golf courses on the Hickory tour.
“We will have multiple hickory play divisions for gross and net winners. Lots of awards, fun and food. Thursday is our practice day and you are welcome to come out for a warm up. Thursday night we will have a welcome reception and trade show. All are welcome and bring clubs to sell or trade. Friday is our first round starting with tee times at 9:50 a.m. After golf we will meet to post scores and catch up on the round. At 5:30 will be our annual “Friday Night Fish Fry” at Lawsonia’s clubhouse. A Friday night tradition in Wisconsin, this is not to be missed. Saturday is the final day of the event, and we start the tee times at 9 a.m. Afterward, scoring will occur, awards given out and good byes will be shared.
Hickory club equipment rentals will be available. The tournament uses pre-1935 SoHG-approved clubs. It is two days of medal play in both gross and net divisions.

About Lawsonia and its History:
Lawsonia’s historic Links Course has long been considered one of the best classic golf courses in the country. The course has undergone a revitalization over the past decade, including extensive tree work and thoughtful restoration, and a return to ‘firm and fast’ traditional playing surfaces on the course.
The Links features deep bunkers, wide fairways, and a set of putting greens that are as interesting and as good as anything you will find in the country. It is a big, bold golf course that remains virtually unchanged from the day its brilliant golf architects, William Langford and Theodore Moreau, finished construction in 1930. The course is a marvel even before you consider it was built with 1920’s-era steam shovels!
What has made Lawsonia Links such an enduring favorite of Wisconsin Golfers? It’s the quality of the golf course and the kind of heroic, creative, ‘linksy’ shot making opportunities that it invites (the kind of golf that is unfortunately missing in so many modern courses).
Simply put, The Links is a tremendously fun and memorable golf course and one of the very best public courses in the country! Please come join us for this wonderful hickory outing.
