2023 Mid South Hickory Golf Classic
May 19, 2023 - May 21, 2023
This is an inaugural hickory golf event for the great Volunteer State, organized jointly by the Southern Hickory Golf Society (SHGC) and East Tennessee Hickory Players (ETHP). The venue is The Course at Sewanee, a nine-hole course atop Monteagle Mountain, 45 miles northwest of Chattanooga and 90 miles southeast of Nashville. Originally built in 1915 and artfully renovated in 2013 by famed architect Gil Hanse, the course is short but quite challenging. Bent greens, Bermuda-grass fairways and fescue-rough along with a number of bunkers require deft and sure shotmaking. The committee is currently working on the details and will post on Facebook pages of SHGS and ETHP.
