The Oddball is two full days of featherball golf, history and camaraderie at the Hillcrest Golf Center in Washington, Ill.

Friday:
10 a.m. – Feather and gutty ball driving range opens. Test drive clubs, fellowship, and partake of delectable nosh (including a new offering, Watery Filth).

11:30 a.m. – Group photos and traditional toast.

Noon – Tee times start. 18 holes playing foursomes, the game played in the feather ball-era (alternate shot, blind draw). Old Maw’s cart will be on the course to keep you fed and watered.

Evening – Dinner together (details TBD).

Saturday:
8 a.m. – Begin gathering at first tee for breakfast nom-noms. Old Maw’s cart will be on the course.

9 a.m. – Finish foursomes brackets, if necessary. Otherwise, we will play a traditional bogie game against Francis the Squirrel.

Both days:
• Please dress for the period (1880–1848) if you are able. For guidance and inspiration, please see five fashion blog articles on the Hickory Lane Featherie website.

• If you already have feather balls, please bring them. If not, a new ball will be provided. We also will have some clubs on hand to borrow, if needed; please let us know in advance.

If you are playing one or both days, the event fee is $40, payable at the clubhouse (cash is appreciated; no cards). Greens fees are $20 on both Friday and Saturday, payable at the clubhouse (cards accepted). Please contact us for special hotel rates.
