There’s good news for hickory golfers, indeed, all golfers, in the Sunshine State. The Florida State Golf Association has entered into a partnership with the Florida Hickory Golfers, led by Mike Stevens. The FSGA plans to add a portal to its website for golfers to explore hickory golf through the FSG.

“We look forward to a great partnership and continuing to grow hickory golf in the state,” Stevens said. “Once the virus situation is resolved we will be planning events in conjunction with the FSGA along with our regular FHG outings.”
A Florida State Hickory Open is in the works, too, planned for next year if things continue on this pace and the partnership proves a happy one. Like other state golf associations, the FSGA hosts events throughout the year and has decided to offer a hickory division to many of these.

For his part, Aaron Skoviera, senior director of club services for the FSGA, is excited about the partnership and says that he “looks forward to becoming more involved with hickory golf on a personal level.”
Well done to all involved and good luck with the new partnership. Sounds like great fun for all.
